My first photographic project. I wanted to document the Black community of

students at the University of Warwick during my first year in 2016, motivated

to push against bad press following an act of racist harassment towards an

acquaintance. I wanted to highlight Black success and beauty. I was in awe of

my contemporaries at the time and still am. Their ambition is truly remarkable.

I learnt how to develop and print black and white film in the darkroom to

complete this project. The results were adorably inconsistent but it was a

noble attempt from a complete beginner
